How Gratitude can create a healthier, happier life for you…
This year I’ve blogged quite a bit about Gratitude and the amazing power it has in our life. I strongly believe that gratitude is a catalyst in creating positive change and bringing about amazing results and have remained passionate about this subject for quite some time now.
Today I’d like to pick up this subject of Gratitude once again as I take a leap of faith into my doctors hands and step into surgery. Double knee replacement surgery is certainly not an easy topic to discuss let alone face head on. So as you can imagine this is quite difficult for me, but not as difficult as it would be without Gratitude at my side. Today I chose to be grateful to live in a day and age where this kind of surgery is not only possible but effective. Yes I will be in a LOT of pain for a few months and I will have to go through rehab and physical therapy… I will have to learn to walk again (at my age!) and I will shed a few tears along the way. But I think back and ponder the advancements in our medical industry and realize that things were very different when my mother was my age or even my grandmother. In the last few decades we’ve come a long way and the level of care and comfort I will receive from my doctors and caretakers is amazing compared to what it was way back when.
Just so you know – I’ve left instructions for everyone to call me the New Bionic Woman of SWFL after tomorrow! Yes, I still have my sense of humour! I am really going to need it in the coming months so I’m keeping it close by, packed it in my suitcase already! Thanks for laughing with me today. I’m grateful for that! And today I’m grateful for a lot! I’m also grateful to be able to have a solution for my knee problems and that I can afford to pay for this solution. I’m grateful knowing that God has always watched over me in the past and knowing that he will continue to do so in the days to come. I’m grateful to have such good doctors and medical care at my disposal. I’m grateful to have amazing family and friends that will reach out to me in the coming days with words of comfort and support. I’m grateful for the prayers that will be with me and uplift me as I face the pain that lies ahead. I’m grateful knowing that this too shall pass and there will be easier days after this is all over with and I am all healed up from surgery!
But more than anything I’m grateful for this positive outlook that allows me the opportunity to embrace faith and know that everything is going to be ok. I’m grateful to be able to share these words with you today, grateful that you took time out from your busy day to read it and be with me now.
Gratitude really is an amazing attitude that is so easy to obtain and such a powerful tool in one’s life. I hope I’ve inspired you today to embrace gratitude in whatever difficulties lie ahead for you. I hope that you are able to find the solutions and walk in the direction of your goals and never let gratitude out of your sight!
Blessings and love – Lee Knapp.

Lee,
I have known your son, Craig for many years, and I am sure that I do not have to tell you
that he is a very caring and special individual and adores you.
I will have you in my thoughts and Prayers. I will share my story one day, But in the meantime,
I hope your Surgery goes well and you have a quick recovery. My favorite quote is “One Day
At A Time”. Yes, There will be good days and bad days and A few tears along the way, But I
know you will do well. I will be checking your updates and thinking of you.
Best Wishes,
Shirley Lightfoot
Wishing a quick and speedy recovery! thanks for sharing
